The Remembering returns us to that truth. It is a living circle for women who feel drawn to the sacred work of birth, whether to serve families, to understand their own power, or to bring ancestral care back into their communities.

You do not need to be a doula or midwife. This is a path for anyone who believes that every person should know how to hold space for life’s beginnings.
Led by Melissa Philippe, Afro-Indigenous Haitian midwife and founder of Rooted in Wisdom, this circle weaves ancestral knowledge, ceremony, herbalism, and practical care into a shared journey of remembering.

Part One: The Rooting (6 weeks)
The beginning of your return. This circle grounds you in the foundations of Afro-Indigenous birth wisdom and the sacred responsibility of care.

Part Two: The Blooming (10 weeks)
The continuation of your growth and embodiment.
Here, knowledge deepens into practice.
• Advanced herbal and postpartum applications
• Ceremony-based care and community education
• CPR/AED certification for infants and adults
• Integration of ancestral and modern safety practices

Completion is a traditional ceremonial river graduation where each participant receives a Certificate of Completion and is recognised as a Certified Traditional Birthkeeper (Doula) through Rooted in Wisdom, Inc.
The Remembering begins on January 11, 2026, and concludes on April 25, 2026, with our ceremony scheduled for April 26, 2026.
